Artist talk: Amin Zouiten in conversation with Marie Muracciole
Wednesday January 17, 19.00–20.30

This event will be held in English and accompanies the exhibition I SAW IT WITH MY OWN HANDS – Amin Zouiten, Erik Thörnqvist, Sahar Alkhateeb, Therese Bülow (Dec 1, 2023–Jan 21, 2024). You can read more about it here: skaneskonst.se/en/i-saw-it-with-my-own-hands

Please join us for a conversation with artist and filmmaker, Amin Zouiten, and Paris-based art critic, writer, and independent curator, Marie Muracciole.

Together, they will circle the conversation around two works presented by Zouiten in the exhibition, namely the video work ‘The Secret of The Desert’ (2022) made through ء (Hamza) and the sound installation ‘Dead Reckoning, Fes’ (2023). They will also delve into other works, including ‘Qirat’ (2023) which will be shown as part of Göteborg Film Festival this year and aspects related to Zouiten’s approach to sites, exploring how his practice serves as a catalyst for shifts in perception concerning narrative and place.

This talk marks our first event of the year 2024 and the final iteration of the exhibition’s public programme. We look forward to seeing you there.
