Performance by Parsa Kamehkhosh
Presented by KONSTITORI
Friday, August 8, 18.00-19.00
“Being-in-the-world is my ultimate pursuit—standing beyond all constructed identities and allowing myself to experience life as it is. My art practice is the process through which these experiences manifest, guiding me toward a deeper understanding of myself and my place in the world. Therefore, rather than seeing myself as a creator, I perceive myself as a doorway through which ideas emerge into existence.”
– Parsa Kamehkhosh
This performance with Helsinki-based artist Parsa Kamehkhosh is organised by KONSTITORI, a platform for public encounters with artists who use food and edible material as medium, material or motif, and hosted by Skånes konstförening. Kamehkhosh is known for performances that involve materials like milk and honey, relating to the experience of the otherworldly.
ARTIST BIO
Parsa Kamehkhosh is a performance artist and designer currently based in Helsinki, whose art spans different media, with a primary focus on performance art. His practice explores “being in the world” in the context of the interaction between daily life and the notion of life on the existential level. He employs objects and materials as manifestations of contemporary human everyday aesthetics and in relation to narratives that define the position of humans in the universe and beyond. His works are often on the borders of the natural and supernatural, seen and unseen. Kamehkhosh studied at Tehran University of Fine Arts, Konstfack College of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Stockholm, and Aalto University. He is the co-founder and co-curator of The Other Side Performance Art Platform, established in 2024 and his works have been shown around the globe, predominantly in Europe, the Middle East, and the US.
ABOUT KONSTITORI
KONSTITORI is a platform founded by Janneke Schoene in 2024 that invites artists who use food and other edible materials to convey concepts and create encounters with the public—sharing experiences and memories related to taste, smell, and texture. The 2025 program is funded by Region Skåne.
