Welcome to the end-of-season of Seved’s Open Studio! This workshop with Malmö-based artist Ikram Abdulkadir is presented in collaboration with the series Beautiful Experiments, which will continue to unfold over the autumn and winter.
About the artist
Ikram Abdulkadir (born 1995) is a Swedish-Somali photographer whose documentary work captures life in urban environments and at home, often focusing on themes of care and collectivity. Abdulkadir’s work is featured in major collections such as Moderna Museet and Gothenburg Art Museum. Raised in Malmö’s Rosengård neighbourhood, her upbringing has been a central theme in her artistic practice.
Seveds öppna
During the Spring of 2025, Skånes konstförening invites to an open studio at Sevedsplan with support of Grannskapsinitiativet–Svenska Postkodlotteriets Stiftelse and in collaboration with MKB, Red Cross and Fryshuset, organised by Janneke Schoene.
Beautiful Experiments
Beautiful Experiments is a series of meditations by artists and art practitioners. It unravels form, unbuttons language, and embraces process as its central methodology. Resisting expectation, it turns towards the radical possibilities of imagination—towards ways of living and creating the ‘otherwise’. Curated by Tawanda Appiah. Supported by Öppna Malmö, Malmö City.
