Please join us for a conversation with artist and filmmaker, Amin Zouiten, and Paris-based art critic, writer, and independent curator, Marie Muracciole.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, they will circle the conversation around two works presented by Zouiten in the exhibition, namely the video work ‘The Secret of The Desert’ (2022) made through \u0621 (Hamza) and the sound installation ‘Dead Reckoning, Fes\u2019 (2023). They will also delve into other works, including \u2018Qirat\u2019 (2023) which will be shown as part of G\u00f6teborg Film Festival this year and aspects related to Zouiten’s approach to sites, exploring how his practice serves as a catalyst for shifts in perception concerning narrative and place.<\/span><\/p>\n

This talk marks our first event of the year 2024 and the final iteration of the exhibition\u2019s public programme. We look forward to seeing you there.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Amin Zouiten <\/b>(b.1994)<\/span> is a Swedish-Moroccan filmmaker and artist educated at Malm\u00f6 Art Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. His works and films have been exhibited at Malm\u00f6 Konsthall, Rencontres Paris\/Berlin, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, CPH:DOX, Tempo Documentary Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marie Muracciole<\/b> is an art critic, writer, and independent curator based in Paris. She was the director and curator at Beirut Art Center from 2014\u20132019 and is curating this year\u2019s Qu\u00e9bec Biennale which opens in February. Muracciole works as an External Tutor at Malm\u00f6 Art Academy. Muracciole\u2019s publications include: <\/span>With<\/span><\/i>, about Jeff Weber in <\/span>Serial Grey<\/span><\/i> (Carr\u00e9 d\u2019art de N\u00eemes), 2021; <\/span>Lights, Camera, Movement, Film Praxis in the Work of Zineb Sedira<\/span><\/i> in Zineb Sedira (Sharjah Foundation), 2018; and <\/span>Transports (Pri\u00e8re de toucher)<\/span><\/i> in Pierre-Lin Reni\u00e9, D\u2019autres jours \/ On Other Days, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n
